This year, there have already been at least 600 mas shootings, and recently, we've seen an increase in mass shootings because of the wide availability of assault weapons. But it doesn't have to be this way. The U.S. House of Representatives has already passed on a bipartisan basis an assault weapons ban with passage of H.R. 1808 this past summer. It's past time for the Senate to also pass H.R.1808 to protect our communities.
