Stop Alcoa destroying forests and risking drinking water

WA’s unique Northern Jarrah Forests are at risk. Alcoa's proposed mine expansions will destroy more irreplaceable Northern Jarrah Forests, and put Perth & the SouthWest’s drinking water at risk. Alcoa have admitted that mining close to drinking water supplies is risky, yet the US company continues to do so. The Cook Government must listen to the Water Corporation, stop this dangerous activity from happening, and protect WA’s drinking water by permanently banning all mining in catchment areas. Despite attempts at greenwashing, Jarrah forests mined for bauxite simply cannot be rehabilitated. Alcoa’s strip mining activity destroys the forest habitat of threatened and endangered species - and once it is gone, it is gone for good. Sign the petition and help stop Alcoa
