This marks the 16th death warrant issued by DeSantis this year. Mr. Conahan has steadfastly maintained his innocence in this case, and courts are actively considering his request for additional DNA testing. Florida should not move forward with an execution while questions that could be examined through additional scientific testing remain unresolved.
