Workers were tired of low wages, inaccessible healthcare, and poor working conditions. Portillo's management immediately began intimidating, harassing, and retaliating against the workers (union busting). Portillo's conduct has placed them being under investigation violating several federal laws. Despite the attacks, the workers prevailed! Even prior to the victory, Portillo's management made it clear it has no intentions to ever successfully bargain a contract with the workers. They have cited the company's deep pockets and expensive lawyers to stall, and ultimately not reach an agreement. The workers have spoken. They deserve a contract.
