The federal tax credit voucher program included in Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act will direct public dollars into unaccountable and discriminatory private schools and the intermediary organizations that funnel money to them. These vouchers will cost billions of dollars and undermine public schools in the states that participate. Before the end of the year, governors need to indicate if they will opt their states into the federal voucher program or reject it.
