With renewable energies like wind and solar becoming more affordable and reliable by the year, now is the time to commit to a greener future. Unfortunately, UW still uses fossil fuels for much of its power needs, such as electricity, transportation, and heating. We are asking the university to commit to converting entirely to renewable energy sources by the year 2050, make ongoing and substantial investments in sustainable infrastructure, and increase transparency on what efforts are being made.
