However, we have heard from some of our LGBTQ+ educators that there is a need to add more language to our policy and regulations supporting their rights to be out (if they so choose) in their school communities, as well as guidelines and trainings to help administrators and staff  better support LGBTQ+ educators, similar to the regulation guideline document that already exists for supporting equal educational opportunities for transgender students (https://www.boarddocs.com/co/jeffco/Board.nsf/goto?open&id=87CU3R5E46DA#). As educators and community memebers in Jeffco, we recognize the important in allowing all teachers to feel safe and comfortable in their schools.
