These workers voted to unionize in 2019 after years of stalled wages and difficult working conditions, and management has dragged this process out over a full year. They are refusing to agree to common sense provisions around wages and overtime, as well as to fully respect their union. We called these workers heroes during the pandemic, but it sure doesn't feel like they are treated that way. We are calling on the hospital to settle this contract and ensure that our staff and patients get the support they need to thrive. As a progressive Oregon community, we know that having a voice on the job matters.
