That's not a theory. A fact. Most people want the same things. A society that is fairer. A democracy that works. A planet that survives us. We might have different traditions. But we have one future. And yet our politics too often behaves as if this majority does not exist. Progressive parties compete where they should cooperate. Allies become rivals. Votes split. And into the gap steps the politics of grievance. That is how Reform UK hopes to win council seats on 7 May. They don’t need a majority. They just need the progressive majority divided. So this petition is a respectful but urgent appeal to the leaders of Britain’s progressive parties. To look at the numbers. To look at the map. To look at the moment. Where progressive parties compete without risk of a Reform takeover, compete proudly. Debate ideas. Offer real choices. But where division risks handing victory to Reform, cooperate. Because the prize is bigger than any single party. It is a country that is more equal, more democratic and more sustainable. The progressive majority exists. But a majority must organise to win. So we ask progressive leaders: work together to mobilise the progressive majority and keep Reform out of our councils on 7 May.
