The ride out to Croome Court from Worcester in Spring time for a cream tea is a joyful experience of the Worcestershire countryside. If you include a group of enthusiastic Green Party activists, it adds to a grand day out. The event is organised with the help of our members who also hold leading roles in Bike Worcester or Bike Bus, so you can be sure of the best route and some careful marshalling. Its a ride of 8.5 miles each way, taking us through back lanes and beautiful countryside, ending up at the cafe at Croome Court where you can enjoy your own picnic or indulge in a cream tea or scrumptious cake. The journey will take around an hour and 20 minutes. We plan to start at 1.15pm from Cafe Viaduct in the centre of Worcester. 9 Grandstand road WR1 3EJ) However if you live in the West or North of Worcester you may want to join us at about 1.30pm in Norton Road by the Scout Hut. We will start and return to the same spot after an hour or so for people to relax and have tea at Croome Court. To make sure the event is safe and well marshalled we are putting a limit on it of 45 participants. It is also acting as a fund raiser for getting us to a Green MP for Worcester so we are making a small charge for the event. The ride is not suitable for small children given the length of ride and some of the terrain. Older children riding with parents who are both competent cyclists are welcome. There are plenty of toilets at the start at Cafe Viaduct and plenty at Croome Court car park and cafe as well as a shop, outdoor and indoor seating and cycle bars to secure bikes to. Kikki Al Pagan's dog will be along for the ride as an experienced Bike Bus dog. If it is a sunny day, please remember to apply suncream in advance and bring a water bottle.
