Meet by the Fish Pass at Diglis Join us for a riverside ramble, picking some fresh elderflowers and then make your own elderflower cordial! Next, enjoy a nature talk on the restoration and development of Chapter Meadows. Finally, bring some food for a picnic in the meadow and enjoy nature in the company of fellow green supporters! Making the cordial Making elderflower cordial is easy and is the pure taste of summer! Elderflowers start to emerge towards the end of May and early June. Flowers can be simply snipped off and prepared for steeping in sugar syrup, which will be supplied. Either lemon or ginger can flavour the cordial, but full instructions will be given. PLEASE BRING A CLEAN CONTAINER FOR THE CORDIAL TO TAKE HOME! (Ideally about 1 litre) Chapter Meadow nature talk and picnic What's more summery than a picnic by the river in an emerging nature reserve? We have permission to picnic in the meadow, where we will have a short talk on its restoration. Please book your tickets in advance so we know how much sugar syrup to bring. Numbers are limited. Dogs on leads are welcome. There are no nearby toilets. There is a doughnut shop on the industrial estate off Bromyard Road. There are toilets on Diglis Island where there is a cafe (if open). Accessibility: Unfortunately, this is not an accessible event due to a lack of disabled parking, toilets and some uneven ground. Getting there and securing your bikes: There are railings at Diglis fish pass to secure your bike to. Parking anywhere near the Fish Pass or Chapter Meadow is difficult and involves a walk. Some spaces on Bromwich Road industrial estate. Then walk down towards Diglis Bridge and then left along the path to Diglis Fish Pass. The other route is to park on Bromwich Road and approach along Kingfisher path. Are you 18 or over? Please book tickets below! Are you 17 or under? You are very welcome to join us but we must be contacted in advance by a parent or guardian. Please contact us by email (chair@worcester.greenparty.org.uk) or phone (07703 517527). Please bring along a friend to help us continue our amazing growth as a local political force!
