We’ll hear about the farm’s long history of nature conservation and their more recent Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) projects, as one of just four DEFRA pilot projects. BNG has been mandatory for developers since January 2024 and it is vital they are managed well and truly help nature recover. We’ll hear direct from the horse’s mouth as Iford Estate Managing Director Ben Taylor talks about the Estate’s landscape restoration projects including species rich grassland and scrub, woodland planting and the habitat banks. Join us for welcome refreshments in Iford Village Hall, hear from Ben with time for questions and, weather allowing, visit the habitat banks at Houndean Farm (you’ll travel in your own car, approximately 3 miles from Iford).
