A Just Future: Southeast Asian Unity & Organizing for the next 50 Years & Beyond This year marks the 50th year anniversary of the end of the Wars in Southeast Asia. Looking back on these past 50 years, we celebrate our community’s resilience as refugees. As we look towards the next 50 years and beyond, we know that our refugee community is more than the Wars. SEAFN’s long term work is to seek repair from the U.S. government for the ongoing fractures it has continued to cause in our community. In the meantime, we are using this political moment to build community and connections that will accelerate us forward. About the Festival In this moment of intense political attacks on organizations and communities, we need to create a space for visioning, connections and actions. The purpose of this convening is to create a dedicated space for community leaders, organizers, base-building organizations, individuals, artists and healers who care about social justice to come together, to honor our shared history and build unity, nourish, inspire, transform, and ignite a collective vision for the next fifty years of Southeast Asian (SEA) liberation, leadership, and belonging.
