We can end the Saudi war on Yemen — Pass the War Powers Resolution

Despite our cautious optimism that President Biden’s early announcement would mean the end to “offensive” U.S. participation in the brutal Saudi war, the Pentagon admits that it is still providing the logistical support and spare parts to their warplanes used to bomb and blockade the country.
A new report from the Washington Post titled “Saudi-led airstrikes in Yemen have been called war crimes. Many relied on U.S. support” shows that despite the Biden administration’s announcement of an end to U.S. military support for “offensive operations” by the Saudis in Yemen, “maintenance contracts fulfilled by both the U.S. military and U.S. companies to coalition squadrons carrying out offensive missions have continued.”
The U.S. could end all airstrikes on Yemen by simply threatening to cut off the maintenance and spare parts to the Saudi warplanes.
And we have historic news: a bipartisan group of members including Rep. Peter DeFazio, Rep. Pramila Jayapal, Rep. Nancy Mace, and Intel Committee Chair Rep. Adam Schiff, have introduced a War Powers Resolution that will force a vote to end all U.S. support to the Saudi war!
More than 60 additional House members have joined as a co-sponsor, but we can’t rest easy until we are certain that we will have the votes we need to pass the Yemen War Powers resolution and send it to the Senate and to the president’s desk.
