Free Douglas Menjivar - Demand Release from Montgomery Processing NOW!
ICE Field Director Bret Bradford
Douglas Menjivar - husband, father, and loved community member was taken by ICE at his immigration check-in and needs to be released immediately.
He was arrested by ICE agents at his immigration check-in on June 10, 2025 at 126 North Point Drive and transferred to Montgomery Processing Center in Conroe, TX. Douglas is now being held in a detention center once again after years of complying with orders for frequent check-ins. After filing a habeas corpus petition in the US District Court, the government attorneys agreed not to deport until he had his day in court. Douglas's current detention is causing post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) due to the sexual assault that he experienced while being detained in ICE custody in 2013. That is why we need urgent support from you, the community, in fighting for his freedom.
Douglas’s wife, Monica, just completed 3 years of grueling treatment for breast cancer that included chemotherapy, aggressive surgery, more chemotherapy, radiation therapy. She is currently undergoing multiple surgeries for breast reconstruction. In addition, she suffers from other chronic and debilitating illnesses that require regularly scheduled intravenous infusions. She is again scheduled for major surgery on June 18th, just ten days after ICE tore him away from his family. She is not only fighting for her life, she’s being forced to face it without her husband, her sole provider, and the person who has cared for her every step of the way. No one should have to go through something like this alone. The urgency is clear: Douglas must be released so he can be by her side. She needs him home now.
Why we’re fighting:
Deportation is a violent, inhumane, racist form of family separation.
- Mr. Menjivar has not been charged with a specific crime, according to state and federal public records.
- Mr. Menjivar is an outstanding community member serving his neighbors and his family.
- Mr. Menjivar’s detention and consequential lack of income coming to the family is putting crippling financial strain on the family.
