On January 31, all 12 Democrats on the Senate Finance Committee boycotted the scheduled votes to confirm two of Donald Trump's Cabinet nominees. As a result, the confirmation votes have been delayed.
Bank executive Steve Mnuchin—the "Foreclosure King"—is Trump's nominee for Treasury Secretary. At his committee hearing, Mnuchin lied to the Senate that his bank never robo-signed mortgage documents.
Congressman Tom Price is Trump's nominee for Secretary of Health & Human Services. At his committee hearing, Price lied to the Senate about a sweetheart deal he got on medical stocks.
Because the 12 Senate Democrats on the committee refused to attend the confirmation vote, these nominees are still in limbo.
We have been waiting for Senate Democrats to stand up to Donald Trump's kleptocracy and do everything in their power to block the confirmation of his deplorable nominees.
