All In for Hartford's Students, Schools & Community

Leaders of the Hartford Federation of Paraeducators

Recent news of proposals to close neighborhood schools, layoff paraeducators and cut-back on wraparound services for children have all of us concerned about Hartford's future. Educators in the Capitol City's schools do incredible work with far too few resources; but we know that there are real consequences for continued failure to meet our students’ needs.

Everyone agrees that these are difficult times at the state and local level; but we should also agree that our children's future cannot be sacrificed. We need to make sure our schools are safe and secure, have the technology for our kids to succeed in the 21st century, and the staff to teach and support all students.

Sign our petition pledging to be "All In" for a unified effort to move city and district leaders to fully fund Hartford Public Schools.

We know these are tough times at the state and local level; but we also believe we cannot sacrifice our children in the process of balancing budgets. As paraeducators, we understand what it takes for our schools to be safe and secure — and for our students to succeed in the 21st century.

Therefore, we pledge to be "All In" to reclaim the promise of a great public education for our students and their families. We understand that takes real commitment to be part of our union's efforts to move city and district leaders to fully fund Hartford Public Schools.

We look forward to the opportunity to stand up for our students, our schools and our community.
