Hola amistades,

Nosotrxs somos la semilla del sueño de nuestras familias. Despues de tanto tiempo de sacrificio, dolor, esfuerzo e injusticia, nosotrxs sentimos que es hora de hacer algo diferente y crear un nuevo día de justicia, reconciliación e unidad para toda la comunidad immigrante e indocumentada.

Nosotrxs nos sentimos que muchas organizaciones no han podido satisfacer la sed de justicia de nuestra comunidad, que los partidos políticos simplemente nos sacrifican al mejor postor y que el malpagado trabajo que le da tanta acumulacion a este pais no es reconocido y valorado.

Pero sabemos que no estamos solos y que el pasado nos puede ayudar a entender el presente y actuar para el futuro. No más de 100 años atrás en plena colonización de la India, el famoso Gandhi al escuchar mucha de su comunidad hablar de que era imposible sacar a los ingleses por que ellos habían tomado al país a la fuerza respondió: "No es que los ingleses han tomado nuestra patria sino que los hemos dejado"

Es verdad, el abuso, las redadas, la separación, la explotación y la constante negación de nuestra comunidad no es solamente por que ellos tienes todo el poder sino porque nosotros los dejamos. Queseríaa realmente un dia sin immigrantes? Que seria una semana sin trabajadores en todos los restaurantes del país? Que sería una elección sin votos latinos? Que sería un año escolar sin estudiantes?

Es por ese mismo propósito que vamos a comenzar un nuevo movimiento que busca comenzar a cambiar estas dinámicas para buscar la protección permanente de nuestra comunidad. Aunque sabemos que las cosas toman tiempo y nuestro comunidad necesita mucho apoyo, los próximo dos años son la oportunidad que no se nos puede ir de las manos.

Este movimiento se llamará Cosecha, para honrar el trabajo de los miles de trabajadores inmigrantes indocumentados que nos proveen de alimentos en nuestras mesas dia a dia y a los miles de trabajadores de color que fueron forzados a trabajar en esclavitud para construir este país y que todavía sienten la negación de su dignidad por el país.

Todxs somos voluntarios no pagados y queremos hacer esta bella obra solamente con el apoyo de nuestra comunidad. Acabamos de comenzar nuestra primera casa de organizadores en Boston y ya tenemos muchos capacitaciones en Minnesota, Boston, Florida, California en las proximas semanas, suma tu nombre a esta lista de apoyo para que te podamos contactar y para que apoyes el movimiento.

Dear friends,

We are the seed of the dreams of our families. After so much time of sacrifice, pain, trauma and hard work we feel that the time has come for us to do something very different and provide a new day of justice, reconciliation and unity for all of our immigrant and undocumented community.

We feel that many organizations haven't been able to provide the necessary avenues for the thirst of justice for our community, that the political parties can sell us any moment to the highest bidder and that our labor is exploited as it provides accumulation to the US with no recognition or value.

But we know that we are not alone and that the past can help us in understanding the present and plan for the future. We are students of the thousands of farmworkers that stood up to exploitation with the leadership of Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta, students of the thousands of african-americans that stood up to racist system of Jim Crow all over this country. We know by the lessons of this movements that is the injustice won’t change in the time of the system but rather by the momentum of the feet of a popular movement.

And it’s true, all this pain, the raids, the separation, the deportations, the exploitation continues because we allow them to, because we are afraid of doing what is necessary. What would a day without an immigrant really look like? What would a week without restaurant workers feel like? What would a presidential election look like without any latino voters and what would a year of school look like without students?

It is for that purpose that we are starting a new movement, the Harvest Movement. The name is to honor the thousands of undocumented workers that provide food to our many tables today and for the legacy of the millions of workers that were forced to become slaves to provide for the unnecessary accumulation of this country.

We are all volunteers and we want to begin this with the support of the community. We just started our first Cosecha house in Boston, MA and have many training coming up in Minnesota, Boston, Florida and California.
