Tell the BCCC Board of Trustees: Vote NO for President McCurdy

BCCC Board of Trustees

Sign our petition to tell the BCCC Board of Trustees to issue a vote of no confidence for President Debra McCurdy.

In her time as president, she has shown a lack of interest in working with us and our union. We are the workers who do the critical work that makes BCCC happen, but she has refused to work together to address key issues and improve working conditions at BCCC.

Let’s send a UNITED and clear message to the BCCC Board of Trustees that the workers and students of BCCC deserve better.

We, the undersigned, are calling for the BCCC Board of Trustees to issue a vote of no confidence for President Debra McCurdy.

Our union is made up of many of the workers who show up every day to ensure that the BCCC campus community, including students and faculty, have what they need to succeed. But time and time again, President McCurdy has ignored our voices and our efforts to improve the working conditions at BCCC.

We urge the Board of Trustees to remove her for the following reasons:

- President McCurdy and her administration have refused to take meaningful action on important issues that our union has discussed at labor management committee (LMC) meetings.

- Under President McCurdy’s leadership, there continues to be an excessively high turnover in staff and alarmingly high vacancy rates.

- The administration has a disproportionately large number of people in senior administrative positions while other staffing positions in our bargaining unit go unfilled.

- Enrollment declines have accelerated under President's McCurdy's leadership.

- The administration is plagued by poor communication and a lack of transparency.

- President McCurdy appoints cabinet members who engage in retaliation and foster hostile work environments.

- President McCurdy lacks the vision and skills to develop and implement a focus, vision, and strategies for BCCC that will address the critical academic, career, and continuing education roles that BCCC plays.

For all of the above reasons, we ask that you issue a vote of no confidence for President McCurdy.
