Build Affordable Homes in Beverly Hills

Beverly Hills City Council

It’s no surprise that the wealthy town of Beverly Hills is reluctant to build affordable homes. But the State of California is requiring wealthy cities to build, and Beverly Hills has received a proposal for 165 apartments, with 33 of them reserved for people with low incomes. The California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) has now notified the city that this denial violates state housing laws, putting Beverly Hills at risk of legal action from the state, housing advocates, and the developer.

We can't let Beverly Hills delay or deny this project any longer. The state has made it clear that the city's actions are illegal, and time is running out. The city has until September 20 to respond to HCD's notice of violation.

Sign this petition to demand that Beverly Hills comply with state law and allow the 125-129 S. Linden Drive project to move forward without further delay. Let's turn a parking lot into affordable homes for our community!

I am writing to express my strong support for the proposed 19-story development at 125-129 S. Linden Drive. Beverly Hills has a critical need for affordable housing, and this project represents a significant step towards addressing that need.

The California Department of Housing and Community Development has already notified the city that its previous actions to block this project violate state housing laws. The 165 rental units, including 33 dedicated to low-income residents, would provide much-needed homes in our community. What is currently a parking lot could soon be a place where hundreds of people live, eat, sleep, and build community.

This project is not just an opportunity; it's a legal obligation. I urge the Beverly Hills City Council to comply with state law and approve this proposal without further delay.
