Invest in Communities

Govenor Baker, Speaker DeLeo and Senate President Spilka

1) No capital bond money for new jails or prisons

2) Cut the DOC budget

3) Cut the sheriffs budget

4) Fund communities this includes housing, healthcare, community lead organizations and economic developments.

The legislature needs to address a lack of investment in predominantly Black and Brown communities and an over-investment in their criminalization.

Massachusetts has one of the lowest rates of incarceration in the country, yet we spend more money than any other state on jails and prisons.
