Call on President Trump to Resign

US Senate, Us House of Representatives

The Movement for Black Lives has three top demands: Defund the police, support Black businesses, and urge Trump to resign. This petition will be sent to your elected leaders urging them to support the resignation of President Donald J. Trump.

On Aug. 7, 1974, the Republican leadership in Congress urged President Richard M. Nixon to resign. Two days later, he did. Your time has now come to do the same with President Donald J. Trump. In support of one of the top three demands coming from the Movement for Black Lives, I urge you to do all in your power to urge Trump to resign from office.

We have never had a president who has done so much damage to our country in so short a time. Our nation cannot afford to wait any longer. We urge you to call on Trump to resign for reasons too numerous to count, but most recently among them, the fact Trump has continuously signaled his support for white supremacists and threatened to call in the U.S. military to quash protestors outraged at the way the police routinely brutalize and kill Black people. He is a danger to us all.
