Support CEJA ( Clean Energy Jobs Act), Illinois

Governor JB Pritzker

If we are going to adequately address the climate crisis in Illinois, we need have a plan. We must press our state legislators to bring CEJA (Clean Energy Jobs Act) to the forefront — to discuss, deliberate and bring this to the floor for a vote as soon as possible in the next legislative session!

Since each day in the news seems to showcase some new climate disaster — hurricanes, floods, fires, the ice melt in the arctic — we have no time to waste.

Please send the attached form letter to our governor to support this important bill.

Dear Governor Pritzker,

As your constituent, I believe we need to address the climate crisis and transition to a clean energy economy as soon as possible. I urge you to support the community-requested goals, comprised from dozens and dozens of community conversations, of the Illinois Clean Jobs Coalition by putting the Clean Energy Jobs Act (SB2132/HB3624) at the top of the legislative agenda.

Please bring this critical bill, that addresses the following key pillars, to vote as soon as possible:

1. Growing clean energy jobs + training opportunities, especially for economically disadvantaged communities, communities of color, communities impacted by pollution, and former fossil fuel workers.
2. Transitioning to a carbon-free power sector for Illinois by 2030.
3. Bringing Illinois to 100% clean renewable energy by 2050.
4. Tackling pollution from the transportation sector by creating more electric infrastructure for all types of vehicles and all types of consumers.
