Climate Change and the BC Comp Plan

Bonner County Planning Commission

I recently attended a meeting of the Bonner County Planning Commission (recently split off from the Zoning Commission).  I saw 7 patient, committed Commissioners listening to public comment on their proposed amendments to the Goals/Objectives/Policies in the Comp Plan.  It's an overwhelming job for volunteers and they need help.

So PLEASE let them know that Comp Plan needs to account for climate change, and contribute to a solution.

The reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the expansion of factors of climate resiliency will be considered in all planning. Scientific data on current and future projections of climate conditions will be used, especially in consideration of transportation, buildings, preservation of natural areas (trees) for carbon sequestration.
