Stop Censorship: Urge Capri Theatre in Alabama to Show Siegelman Documentary Film
Capri Theatre Board of Directors (director@capritheatre.org)
Karl Rove and right-wing operatives hijacked the criminal justice system to send Alabama's Democratic Gov. Don Siegelman to prison, because they couldn't defeat him at the ballot box. Now a new documentary film -- Atticus v. The Architect: The Political Assassination of Don Siegelman -- exposes their corruption.
Sign
our petition to the Capri Theatre Board of Directors now: Urge them to
honor their agreement to show this critical documentary. The truth about
this right-wing exploitation of our criminal justice system must be
heard!
We
need to make sure this film is seen far and wide -- to build public
outcry and make sure the criminal justice system is never corrupted in
this way ever again.
The
next step in that fight is in Montgomery, the state capital of Alabama,
where the local independent Capri Theatre backed out of its agreement to
show the film, under pressure from some of the same right-wing
operatives who railroaded Gov Siegelman in the first place.

We urge you to honor your commitment to screen the film, Atticus v. The Architect: The Political Assassination of Don Siegelman.
The people of Montgomery deserve a chance to watch and hear this important story. The Capri Theatre has a long history of screening important documentaries to provoke important public dialogue. We urge you not bow to political pressure to censor this film. By shining a bright light on the politically motivated prosecution in the Siegelman case, we can root out political corruption from our criminal justice system -- and make sure nothing like this happens again.
