CSU: Bring a Healthy Smile to CSU Humboldt Support Staff!

We, CSU Humboldt support staff, need our community's help as we struggle with the cost of dental care in our area! As inflation continues to rise and affordable local dental options disappear, we are asking CSU for a stipend to cover some of our out-of-pocket costs when accessing dental care.

We need CSU’s help because our CSU-provided dental coverage does not cover care in large areas of California, preventing many CSU Humboldt workers from accessing care altogether. CSU is aware of these gaps in coverage but has done nothing to address the problem!  

CSU, please bring a healthy smile to your employees at CSU Humboldt. We lack the two annual cleanings and no-charge X-rays that are the staple of most dental plans. We pay out of pocket for benefits that should be covered, at potentially huge expense to workers with family members on their plans. Many providers around CSU Humboldt don’t even take Delta Dental, our CSU-provided plan, forcing workers into a lengthy and confusing claims process that will cover only a fraction of our costs.

A dental care stipend would dramatically improve the lives of workers and workers’ families. CSU, support your support staff and help us thrive!
