CSU: Keep Your Promises or Prepare for a Fight!
CSU Leadership
After Teamsters and other CSU Unions lobbied, sent petitions and letters, and called their state legislators to get full state funding for the CSU—and the Legislature bent over backward to give it to them—CSU has again shown they don’t give a damn about workers by sending a demand to bargain for Unit 6 Skilled Trades workers’ 2025 raises and salary steps.
The CSU has the money to give their workers raises and move them up their salary scale—CSU chooses not to and to instead put billions of dollars into reserves.
We demand that the CSU honor its promises to workers or prepare for a protracted, expensive and disruptive legal and economic battle with the Teamsters Union—up to and including potential strike action—which will undoubtedly cost the University many times what it may expect to save by cheating workers out of their promised raises.
Teamsters Local 2010 has also filed a grievance against the CSU for violating our contract by failing to pay the contractually promised raises and salary steps and we are working with our attorneys to prepare further legal action.
Local 2010 is coordinating closely with the other CSU Unions, which are facing similar efforts by CSU to deny contractual raises.
Teamsters Unit 6 Skilled Trades workers and our friends and allies stand ready to do whatever it takes to defend our contract and the step increases that we won, that the University promised us, and that we deserve!
We demand that the CSU Board of Trustees and Chancellor Garcia immediately rescind CSU’s labor management’s request to reopen negotiations on Unit 6 raises and salary step increases!

CSU's demand to bargain for Unit 6 Skilled Trades workers’ 2025 raises and salary steps is disrespectful, dishonest, and insulting to the workers who keep the CSU running. CSU has the money to give workers raises and move them up their salary scale—but leadership chooses not to and to instead put billions of dollars into reserves.
We demand that the CSU honor its promises to workers or prepare for a protracted, expensive and disruptive legal and economic battle with the Teamsters Union—up to and including potential strike action—which will undoubtedly cost the University many times what it may expect to save by cheating workers out of their promised raises.
