The pharmaceutical giant Gilead Sciences is weaseling out of paying its fair share of U.S. taxes by shifting billions in profits offshore to Ireland, a tax haven.
But the U.S. Treasury Department can stop this by investigating Gilead’s questionable use of a tax loophole, and if it finds wrongdoing make the corporation pay the taxes owed to U.S. taxpayers.
