Ditch The Data Centers
San Antonio City Council and Mayor
People who live near data centers deserve to know the risks of them being in their communities. However, data centers pose a risk to all of us because they consume so much land, water and power.

Ditch The Data Centers
Data Centers are BIG neighborhood polluters!
~ They use diesel or gas powered back up generators that emit harmful air pollutants into your neighborhood and contribute to the formation of ground-level ozone; these pollutants cause severe respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, including asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, and lung cancer.
They use a lot of water to cool their equipment!
~we are in Stage 3 Drought Restrictions. SAWS can’t give data centers a pass to use as much water as they want and then ask for a rate hike in June.
They use tremendous power!
~ CPS Energy has 59 data center projects in various stages of planning. This amount of data centers could use up to 26GW of power. That's enough to power 19 million homes!
~What does this mean for ratepayers? Higher bills because CPS Energy is going to ask for a 3rd rate hike this year since 2022.
~Over 180k CPS Energy customers struggle to pay their bills while data centers are given the green light to use as much power as they want.
Tell your council member and mayor you don’t want any more dangerous data centers in your neighborhood!
