Drag is joy, and we will not let them take it from us!
Governors and Legislators
At Qommittee, we believe joy is an act of resistance. And drag — in all its glitter, grit, and glory — is one of the most powerful expressions of joy our community has ever known.
But right now, that joy is under attack.
Across the country, legislators are advancing bills, weaponizing ordinances, and manufacturing outrage to ban drag performances, criminalize gender expression, and push LGBTQ+ people out of public life. They are doing this deliberately. They are doing this loudly. And they are counting on us to stay quiet.
We won't.
Drag performers have always been on the front lines of our liberation — from the defiant queens of Stonewall to the artists lighting up stages in small towns and big cities alike today. They have given our community language, laughter, and a roadmap for living boldly. They deserve our protection, our solidarity, and our voice.
The threats are real. Bomb scares have shut down shows. Armed protesters have surrounded venues. Harassment campaigns have targeted organizers and performers who simply want to share their art. And behind it all, lawmakers keep pushing discriminatory laws while calling it "safety."
We know what this really is. It's fear. Fear of joy. Fear of freedom. Fear of a community that refuses to shrink.
So we're asking you to stand up — loudly, proudly, and together. Sign this petition and send a message to every governor, legislator, and local official who thinks they can legislate us out of existence: our community is here, our art is here, and our joy is not going anywhere.
- Reject restrictions on LGBTQ+ and drag events and ensure equal access to public venues
- Reject legislation that singles out drag performances for restriction
- Stop targeting LGBTQ+ people through discriminatory laws
- Hold accountable those who threaten drag performers and venues
- Focus on real issues instead of manufactured culture wars
Drag is joy. Sign with us and protect it.

We urge you to oppose legislation and harassment targeting drag performers and LGBTQ+ events. Drag is culture, not a threat — and our community deserves the same rights, safety, and freedom of expression as every American. Stand with us.
