We, the undersigned, demand that your office drop all pending criminal charges against Noah Young and Caleb Tisdol.

On December 14, 2017, five New Britain police officers ambushed and attacked Zoe Dowdell, 20 years old, Caleb Tisdol, 15 years old, and Noah Young, 18 years old. Zoe was killed after being hit by multiple rounds of gunfire. Noah and Caleb were hit by gunfire and survived. In the week after Zoe's murder, Caleb and Noah were arrested and falsely charged by New Britain police.

At the ages of 15 and 18, Noah and Caleb endured over a year of incarceration, solitary confinement, denials of their right to education, and other retaliations from the state.

Noah and Caleb have suffered two years of injustice at the hands of the State of CT. They deserve peace. However, they cannot move on with their lives and heal from what they have endured as long as your office continues pursuing these charges. The charges were created to discredit Noah and Caleb and deflect attention from Zoe’s murder by New Britain police. Noah and Caleb’s freedom was taken so the officers who killed Zoe could be protected.

True justice requires Noah and Caleb’s freedom. It requires holding police accountable for Zoe’s murder and holding multiple systems, including your office, accountable for the terror and deep trauma that Noah and Caleb have been forced to endure, from that night, December 14th, to their incarceration at the ages of 15 and 18, to the lives they cannot have because your office continues to deny them freedom. We will not accept anything less than their freedom.

We demand that you drop all charges against Noah and Caleb immediately and allow them to pursue healing and justice after everything that they have suffered and survived.
