#DropTucker

Tricia Griffith, Shelly Ibach, Mary T. Barra, Pamela Nicholson, and Emma Walmsley

Yesterday, Media Matters unearthed documentation of Tucker Carlson calling women the c-word, primitive, dogs, and other deeply misogynist names. He joked about 13-year-olds being molested. He has gone on Twitter and refused to apologize, because he is not sorry.

We do not have to allow Tucker a platform on which to earn millions for airing his disgusting views. We can hit him in the place he values above all other things: his wallet.

Tell Tucker’s female advertisers to lead the charge in making the right decision to pull their ads from Tucker Carlson Tonight and #DropTucker

Tucker Carlson is propped up by a handful of advertisers who are funding his sexist, misogynist rhetoric. Five of these advertisers have women CEOs: Tricia Griffith of Progressive Insurance, Shelly R. Ibach of Sleep Number, Mary T. Barra of General Motors, Pamela Nicholson of Enterprise Holdings, and Emma Walmsley of GSK. As women, they are directly affected by the kind of sick, sexist vitriol that Tucker has been spewing.

Stop funding Tucker Carlson’s dangerous, sexist rhetoric. As women, you all know that disgusting commentary like his make all women less safe. He has gone on Twitter and refused to apologize, because he is not sorry for calling women the c-word, primitive, dogs, and other deeply misogynist names. Tucker Carlson believes that pedophilia is okay, that women need to be perceived as attractive to be successful, that we're "primitive and basic." Tucker can’t air his vile views without a show, and there is no show without advertisers.

There are not many women CEOs in this country. As women in unique positions of power, I'm asking you to set an example to your fellow CEOs everywhere: Draw the line. Tell Tucker Carlson and media personalities everywhere that it is unacceptable to speak about women and girls the way Tucker has. Use your power to make a difference.
