End the Contract with ICE and Stop Separating Immigrant Families

Kent County Board of Commissioners and Sheriff Stelma

The cruel separation of immigrant families is happening at the U.S.-Mexico border...and right here in our community. Kent County has a contract with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to help them take immigrants out of our community and tear parents away from their children. The contract hurts our community and supports the White House's current inhumane policies towards immigrants.

Kent County just renewed this dangerous contract. But we cannot allow our county to continue to earn money from a contract that actively harms so many members of our community.

Right now, communities across the U.S. from Atlanta, GA to La Joya, TX are speaking up and ending contracts with ICE. They are saying NO MORE and refusing to be a part of a system that destroys families and dehumanizes immigrants. It is time for Kent County to join this national movement and do our part stop family separation in our own community!

Sign this petition to tell the Kent County Board of Commissioners and Sheriff Lawrence Stelma to end the contract NOW and stop separating immigrant families. There's no time to spare.

As members of the Kent County community, we demand an immediate end to the contract between Kent County and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). In the midst of the national crisis around the inhumane treatment of immigrant families at the border, it is immoral for to continue collaborating with ICE to separate immigrant families in Kent County.

Immigrants are valuable members of the Kent County community. It is immoral for our county to earn money from a contract that actively harms immigrant families. We demand that the Board of Commissioners and Sheriff listen to the community and immediately end the ICE contract and stop separating families.
