On Sunday, July 28, a gunman opened fire at the Gilroy Garlic Festival in Northern California, killing 4 people (including a six-year-old child) and wounding at least 15 others.

With the shooting in Gilroy, in 2019 there have now been 246 mass shootings in the first 210 days in the United States.

Living in constant fear of gun violence is terrifying and unconscionable, but it is a reality in our country. The answers are staring us in the face, but extremist, NRA-backed politicians refuse to take action.

The facts are clear. States with more guns have more deaths, and states where it's harder to get guns have fewer gun-related deaths.

It doesn't get simpler than that: Gun safety laws work.
