Dear Mr. Gallagher:

I am an Allegiant Air Flight Attendant. As an Allegiant Air Flight Attendant, I am a safety, security, and customer service professional. I spend more one-on-one time with every customer than any other Allegiant employee. Every day I am faced with hot aircraft, emergency landings, irate passengers, extended delays, cancellations, and long duty days. In spite of these daily challenges, I use every available means to provide a safe and comfortable flight for every customer in the hope that they will come back and help make our company even more successful.

Over six years ago, our Flight Attendants voted for union representation with the Transport Workers Union of America, AFL.CIO (TWU). We did not vote for TWU because we didn’t like our company. We did it because we wanted fair and consistent work rules, a safer workplace, and industry standard compensation and benefits that reward our contribution to Allegiant Air. We have continued to fight for those things because it is the right thing to do. Unfortunately, after over six years, we have recently been forced to ask the National Mediation Board (NMB) for release from negotiations.

Allegiant Air has declared the month October as “Flight Attendant Appreciation Month”. While we appreciate the parties and good wishes, the only meaningful way to show that we are appreciated as a work group is by agreeing to a fair contract with our Flight Attendants. It has been over five years since you have been to the negotiating table. We are asking you to return to the table as soon as possible to bring our negotiations to a successful close and agree to a contract that shows your appreciation for the hard work we do every day to make our company successful.
