Fair Contract Now for Wareham Paraprofessionals

To the Wareham School Committee, Wareham Superintendent of Schools Kimberly Shaver-Hood and Wareham Board of Selectmen,

Paraprofessionals working in Wareham Public Schools provide invaluable service to our students. These educators deserve a contract that moves the district toward better valuing their role in supporting students and that respects their professional dignity.

Paraprofessionals play a critical role in educating our children. We, the undersigned, demand that the School Committee’s contract negotiations team align school district spending with the values of the Wareham community.

This means making it a priority to adequately compensate those who tirelessly contribute to the success of our students, some with the highest needs in our district.

We support raising hourly wages for paraprofessionals annually over the next three years, respectively, by no less than $1, $1.25 and $1.25.
