Demand on-air corrections from FOX affiliates who are spreading propaganda about Social Security

This past week, more than 60 local FOX affiliates across the country ran similar misleading segments in a coordinated attack on Social Security.

The theme of each segment was that the only way to prevent future Social Security benefit cuts is to cut benefits now. This is an outright lie perpetrated by the same Wall Street billionaires who want to get their greedy hands on our earned Social Security benefits.

TV news is loud. But our voices together can make the truth even louder.

We demand that you issue an on-air correction to your recent report saying that Social Security benefit cuts were imminent. Instead of scaremongering that Social Security will go broke in 2022, you should report the truth: that Social Security has a $2.9 trillion surplus, can pay out 100% of benefits owed for the next 17 years and approximately 80% of benefits owed after that. And all we need is for the wealthy to pay the same rate into Social Security as everyone else―and we can afford to protect and expand benefits for millions of Americans.
