Joshua Collins's personal Twitter account has been suspended for posting proof that Joey Salads, a right-wing candidate for Congress from New York, wears swastika armbands and urinated in his own mouth on video.

Twitter is a vital organizational resource, and these candidate bans are not applied with an even hand. While candidates like Joshua catch 7-day suspensions and are told "Twitter is waiting to verify primary challengers until after the primary election", candidates like Joey Salads are free to spread a platform of hate with Twitter's verified co-sign on that message.

We already know that corporations will always side with fascism, and Twitter is no exception. We can, however, make sure they know they aren't getting away with it. Sending bold, fearless socialist candidates like Joshua to Congress is the most effective way to strike back against corporate-captured media and build a fair, transparent system to conduct democracy.

To Whom It May Concern:

Twitter's selective, seemingly-arbitrary ban process continues to fail your user base. Most recently, Joshua Collins's personal Twitter account has been suspended for posting proof that Joey Salads, a right-wing candidate for Congress from New York, wears swastika armbands and urinated in his own mouth on video, and telling Salads to drop out of his Congressional race.

These candidate bans are not applied with an even hand, and the criteria for what's "abusive/harassment" seems heavily weighted in favor of historical oppressors and right-wing politicians. While candidates like Joshua catch 7-day suspensions and are told "Twitter is waiting to verify primary challengers until after the primary election", candidates like Joey Salads are free to spread a platform of hate with a checkmark by their name.

We do not believe that Twitter should be platforming fascists and silencing their critics. It demonstrates a clear bias that has no place in the marketplace of ideas in 2019.

I am writing to formally request that @Joshua4Congress be reinstated to his account, and that any derogatory marks against his account resulting from this ban be removed immediately.
