Gen. Kelly, apologize to Rep. Frederica Wilson

General John Kelly

While House Chief of Staff John Kelly viciously attacked US Representative Frederica Wilson for defending the pregnant widow of Sgt. La David Johnson, who was distraught after Donald Trump told Johnson that her late husband "knew what he signed up for, but I guess it hurts."

Gen. Kelly attacked the African-American congresswoman at the White House podium yesterday, and in an effort to smear her on behalf of Donald Trump, Kelly lied about Rep. Wilson's attendance at the dedication of an FBI building a few years back. Kelly claimed that Wilson falsely claimed to have raised the money for the building, and that the audience was "stunned" at her arrogance. The Florida Sun-Sentinel newspaper has found the video of her speech at the event, and Wilson said nothing of the sort. Gen. Kelly lied. And then when the White House was asked about Kelly's lie today, they stood by Kelly and claimed the video was a lie!

Kelly's speech at the White House was abominable. Rather than focus on a Gold Star family grieving about the recent loss of a loved one, Kelly used the opportunity to defend Donald Trump and launch partisan attacks at people Trump sees as his enemies (which is pretty much everyone at this point).

General Kelly lied in order to deflect attention away from Donald Trump's horrific handling of this entire Niger fiasco. And he owes Representative Wilson an apology.
