Miami Dade College has become known nationwide as a learning environment where all students are welcome, regardless of immigration status, religion, and gender.
Your recent decision to become the chief Latina salesperson and mouthpiece for Donald Trump’s agenda is shocking and dangerous. After securing the Republican nomination for President, Trump said: “Yes, they’re going to be deported. Look, we either have a country, or we don’t. We have many illegals in the country. And we have to get them out…”
It did not go unnoticed that you began your new position with a blatant show of deception by scrubbing your social media accounts of any criticism of Donald Trump’s anti-immigrant agenda. Therefore, you cannot be trusted to uphold MDC’s legacy of welcoming all students. We will not stand by as you serve Trump's xenophobic and Islamophobic agenda.
