The homeless are among the most vulnerable populations dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. Non-profit groups such as Food Not Bombs and Homefull have experienced harassment while trying to maintain their feedings in a safe way. Additionally these groups have not received any aid from the City, and instead have been directed to speak to the Coalition for the Homeless when they approach the Mayor. The Coalition has refused to provide support to the organizations that are directly working with the homeless.

We demand that the community have direct oversight over the Coalition for the Homeless. Further we demand that Mayor Turner and City Council immediately declare groups working directly with the Homeless as First Responders, and urge them to remove administrative red tape to get funds and access to PPE needed to continue their work.
Furthermore we demand clear instructions be provided to the public on what resources are available regarding testing of the homeless, access to hand sanitation stations, and personal hygiene (showers, etc) for the homeless.
