I support the Nellie Bly Scholarship Program for affordable college and less student debt

Gov. Tom Wolf

Gov. Tom Wolf wants to create a $199 million program that will help more Pennsylvanians earn a degree with fewer loans, while encouraging educated young people to build their lives in Pennsylvania.

"There is a student loan debt crisis across our country," information about the plan states. "It’s a burden on young people and their families that can last for years and holds them back."

The program would benefit students enrolled in Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education universities: Bloomsburg, California, Cheyney, Clarion, East Stroudsburg, Edinboro, Indiana, Kutztown, Lock Haven, Mansfield, Millersville, Shippensburg, Slippery Rock, and West Chester Universities of Pennsylvania. Students should not be saddled with crushing debt due to lack of state funding and investment. Future generations deserve the same opportunities and benefits that previous generations had. Thank you, Gov. Wolf, for this proposal. It would be a game changer for Pennsylvania students.
