GoDurham has been fare-free since the beginning of the pandemic. Eliminating fares has saved Durham residents who rely on the bus to get around the City hundreds of dollars each year. The federal COVID-relief funds that initially covered the lost revenues now need to be made up with local revenues. While City staff are recommending that fare-free transit be continued, it's essential that we show widespread community support to continue this with local tax dollars.
