Tonbridge is a large town whch needs its own town centre Post Office to serve our residents. The current Post Office provides us with a comprehensive range of services in the heart of our community and we request that arrangements are made so that should the Post Office be forced to relocate it is done in a timely and seamless manner so that residents and businesses do not lose services for any length of time.

We are aware that there are plans to close Tonbridge Post Office which shares premises with WHSmith in Tonbridge High Street. This will have a hugely detrimental effect on our large town leaving it without the comprehensive set of services currently provided in the heart of our community.
When the main Post Office was moved from Angel Walk against the wishes of many residents we were reassured that a permanent solution had been found by sharing with another business.
Many businesses rely on the Post Office to sustain their operations and it is also relied upon by residents using its various services.
We understand that the landowner has decided to terminate the lease on the current location and we implore Post Office Counters to work with local commercial estate agents to find an alternative location to ensure a seamless and continuing operation to support our local economy.
