LAND BACK

The Grandmothers’ Village Project, Inc. (GMVP) is a grassroots nonprofit dedicated to returning land to community hands and building a regenerative, net-zero village for our marginalized Elders. Rooted in Indigenous values and ancestral wisdom, GMVP is reclaiming land not only as a place to live—but as a sacred responsibility to heal, protect, and honor those who came before us.
Our work centers elder women/grandmothers, and grandfathers—especially those marginalized by systems that have long denied them safe, stable, and dignified housing. We are creating a new model of community: one where Elders live connected to the land, nourished by culture, and supported by a sustainable village rooted in justice and care.
We fight for:
Land Back and land rematriation for Indigenous and Community-led development
- Affordable, accessible, sustainable housing for Elders
- Food sovereignty and environmental justice
- Cultural and spiritual healing spaces grounded in tradition
GMVP is currently working to reclaim 145 acres of land in Randolph, Massachusetts, to build Wisdom Tree Village—an intergenerational eco-community guided by the dreams and direction of our Elders.
? Sign our petition today to support returning this sacred land to the community—and to help us create a future where Elders are honored, protected, and rooted in place.
This land is waiting. Our Elders are ready. Let's bring them home.

Land Back for the Grandmothers’ Village Project
We, the undersigned, respectfully urge the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to return 145 acres of public land in Randolph to Indigenous and community stewardship through a partnership with the Grandmothers’ Village Project, Inc. (GMVP).
This land is intended to become Wisdom Tree Village—an eco-sustainable, net-zero community designed to provide affordable housing, healing, and sanctuary for elder women and grandfathers. Grounded in Indigenous values and regenerative practices, this initiative responds to urgent housing needs, environmental justice goals, and the ethical responsibility to care for our aging population with dignity and respect.
We ask that your agencies work together in good faith to support a just and timely transfer or long-term stewardship arrangement that honors the land, uplifts elder well-being, and restores sacred space for future generations.
This land is waiting. Our Elders are ready. Let’s bring them home
