SIGN NOW: Demand that Congress act to prohibit “personal use” of Leadership PAC funds by candidates and elected officials

All Members of Congress

Each year, the use of Leadership PAC funds gets more and more blurred to the point where many members of Congress are now using them―legally―as personal slush funds.

A new Issue One report shows that members of Congress―Republican and Democratic alike―are spending millions of dollars on five-star luxury resorts, expensive dinners, trips to theme parks, golf outings, tickets to sporting events and Broadway musicals, international travel and more―all paid for using Leadership PAC funds.

In fact, since 2013, just 45% of Leadership PAC spending has gone toward direct candidate support.

It’s time for Congress to rein in spending abuses from Leadership PACs and impose the same “personal use” restrictions on Leadership PACs as exist on campaign committees.

Sign the petition to Congress demanding immediate action that eliminates “personal use” of Leadership PAC funds.

Each year, members of Congress spend millions of dollars on luxurious lifestyles, including high-end vacations and country club memberships. But these funds aren’t coming from candidates’ own pockets or campaign funds. They’re coming from their Leadership PACs―little-known committees that are increasingly serving as slush funds for candidates. It’s time for Congress to rein in spending abuses from Leadership PACs and impose that same “personal use” restrictions on Leadership PACs as exist on campaign committees.
