Governor Gavin Newsom
Governor Newsom has had two goals this year:
1) Defeat President Trump
2) Build more housing in California. He orchestrated necessary reforms to our environmental review process that had been used to block thousands of homes, and he signed the YIMBY movement's bill that legalized apartments near train stations.
These two things are more closely related than you'd think -- due to California's housing shortage, we have been losing residents to Texas every year. Blue states have become less and less affordable, and we need to boost our supply of housing in order to fix that. Governor Newsom knows that, in the long term, the best way to save democracy is to build more homes in California and open our doors to new residents.
Sign our letter to thank him for everything he's done for housing (and, by extension, democracy) this year!
