Lowell Day Nursery child care educators deserve respect!

To the Board of Directors for Lowell Day Nursery

It's time to respect the highly qualified educators who work for the Lowell Day Nursery!   Their commitment to the highest standards of child care and instruction resulted in the Lowell Day Nursery receiving accreditation in 2014 (for the third time) from the National Association for the Education of Young Children with 10 commendations. Lowell Day Nursery has also been voted "Best of the Best" Child Development Program of Greater Lowell for 16 years running.

Yet, staff salaries haven't kept up with the cost of living or their increases in health insurance. Staff members' health insurance premiums have risen from about $30 a week in 2008 to more than $55.00 in 2014. Meanwhile, the only raises staff have received averaged .27 cents in 2008 and .32 cents in 2012. In other words, pay for these hard working and highly qualified educators has actually been reduced!  Send a message to the Lowell Day Nursery Board of Directors that it's time for respect and a real raise!

Dear Board of Directors of the Lowell Day Nursery ,
It's time to respect the highly qualified educators who work for the Lowell Day Nursery!

Their commitment to the highest standards of child care and instruction resulted in Lowell Day Nursery receiving accreditation in 2014 (for the third time) from the National Association for the Education of Young Children with 10 commendations. Lowell Day Nursery has also been voted "Best of the Best" Child Development Program of Greater Lowell for 16 years running.

Yet staff salaries haven't kept up with the cost of living or increases in health insurance. Staff members' health insurance premiums have risen from about $30 a week in 2008 to more than $55 a week in 2014. Meanwhile, the only raises staff have received have averaged .27 cents in 2008 and .32 cents in 2012.

In other words, pay for these hard working and highly qualified educators has actually been reduced! It's long past time for the Lowell Day Nursery to show your staff some respect and provide everyone with a real raise!

Sincerely,
