Realdebatebrexit-petition2

On the 27th of November 2018 Theresa May and Jeremy Corbyn agreed to a televised debate on the Prime Minister’s Brexit deal.

Caroline Lucas MP for Brighton Pavilion said:

"It's good to hear the Prime Minister is reaching out to the public with a TV debate on her bungled Brexit deal. But for this conversation about our collective future to be a meaningful part of our democracy, it must represent the views of everyone.

"That means it must be cross-party, featuring a diverse range of voices, represent every nation and feature a diverse range of voices setting out possible routes forward

"It’s absolutely vital that the Green party is there making the case for free movement, environmental protection, human rights - and that a People's Vote is now the only democratic way forward. Please support this petition to get all viewpoints heard rather than closing down this most crucial of debates.”

We the people of the United Kingdom demand to hear from more than just the two larger political parties when it comes to our future relationship with the EU, particularly since they don’t represent the full range of options facing the country.

The proposed televised debate must therefore be cross-party, represent every nation and feature a diverse range of voices setting out possible routes forward. It’s not good enough that we only get to hear from the Prime Minister and the leader of the official opposition, especially when other voices are providing much needed principled opposition to Theresa May.
