Over the weekend, several high-profile conservative groups and influencers spread inflammatory misinformation about Molly Bowman, an employee at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville. Their harassment is continuing, with the ultimate goal of pressuring you, USSRC management, into firing Molly simply because of her transgender status.

Some of these influencers, including “Libs of TikTok,” have a history of spreading anti-LGBTQ+ propaganda described by the Washington Post as “designed to generate outrage.” They often describe queer and transgender people as “indoctrinating,” “grooming,” or “recruiting” children. This sort of rhetoric is prejudiced and false – it holds transgender people responsible for the actions of other individuals and groups, and has resulted in innocent people losing their lives and jobs. Molly is being targeted because she belongs to a minority group – there is no evidence of any wrongdoing on her part.
